24 & 25 May 08 - GWS, Didcot
The locomotive undertook a sucessful steam test this weekend, coupled with some running in on Didcot's demonstration line.
Over the next week the loco will have is hot examination by the Insurance company & VAB.
17 & 18 May 08 - GWS, Didcot
With the return of the bogie and tender wheelset from the Severn Valley Railway workshops at Bridgnorth the previous Wednesday, 6024 once again became a complete loco. The engine & tender were once again lifted in turn in the Didcot lifting shop refitting both items.
With the lifting complete, re-assembly of all the remaining items continued with various pieces of pipework and brake rigging that had been taken down were put back into place. By the end of Sunday the loco was in a virtually complete state and ready to be test steamed next weekend.

10 & 11 May 08 - GWS, Didcot
With the final fitting of the eccentric strap and rods, work on the locomotives motion has finally been completed. With the news from Bridgnorth that the work on the bogie and tender axle has been completed, next week the loco should be back in one piece again leaving us on the home straight to steaming the loco and undertaking the boiler examination and VAB approval.
3 May 08 - GWS, Didcot & SVR MPD Bridgnorth
Another double working party weekend with teams at both Didcot and at the Severn Valley Railway's workshops in Bridgnorth.
At Didcot the fitting of the eccentric strap was completed meaning the eccentic rods could also be re-fitted.
At Bridgnorth, with the bogie axles removed for tyre turning & axle box re-matalling, the oppertunity was taken to give it a through clean and examine the springs.
