Load :- 9 vehicles, 325 tons tare, 350 tons gross
Footplate crews :- Bristol to Hereford :- Driver Tom Rees, Fireman Fred Lewis, both Newport Depot, Traction Inspector Gareth Jones of Bescot.
Hereford to Birmingham Snow Hill :- Driver Tony Roseblade, Firemen Frank Sutton and Tony Llewelyn, Traction Inspector Gareth Jones, all Bescot Depot.
Weather :- Warm and overcast with light south westerly winds. Light rain leaving Bristol became heavier at Newport but then stopped soon after Pontypool . Very heavy rain began while we were stopped at Abergavenny and continued as far almost all the way to Hereford . Light rain leaving Hereford became heavier soon after Shelwick Junction but then eased and finally stopped at Great Malvern. After that it was dry for the remainder of the journey.
